Do I believe in angels?

Do I believe in angels?
I am working through a course and the question came up if you have to believe in angels to ask them for help. I find this a tricky one because I don’t think somebody would ask for their help in the first place if they did not believe. To answer the question, I don’t think you have to believe in order to ask for help. It is like reiki. It works if you believe in it or not. Crystals work if you feel their energy or not…

So, do I believe in angels? No, I do NOT believe in angels in the traditional, big winged … beings. I simply look at them as another form of energy. Energy is to abstract so I kept given angel imagery to give that type of energy shape making it tangible. I did not choose those images but they keep popping up. So I am telling myself that I am working with energy that is wrapped in the form of angel shapes. I hope this makes sense.

I have the block because I am not Christian and seem to fight the concept of angles, but if I give it the shape of fairies … I have fewer results than working with the image of angels in my mind.

Don’t use any imagery you say. Well, I seem to be unsure in how to do that. It needs to be visible for me as a reminder, and I think to make sure that I am working with the energy/ frequency … that I am suppose to tap into. If I don’t then I seem to lose that connection to the energy/ frequency that is calling me and I am not getting anywhere. Like talking to yourself. Running on the spot….

Angels on my path pushing their way in. I have always considered them to be a Christian concept which is wrong. Are angels fluffy? Are they frightening? I guess there is only one way to find out and it depends who you work with and how. Same can be said for deities you work with or a path you walk …

The bible gets quoted around me a “lot” by NON Christians when it comes to the subject angels. They say that Doreen Virtue has turned the subject fluffy like people complain that Silver does this to Wicca. Hm, we all have our own journey and what fits one, does not fit the other. Belittling anybody about what they do or don’t do is not the way forward. What I like to question thou is, since when is the Bible a reliable source?

“… Firstly I would like to state that I am speaking from personal opinions, and experiences. My word is not law, and I have no delusions of being absolutely correct. Yes, angels are more widely associated with the Judeo-Christian faith, and if you look anywhere you will find that most facts about angels are drawn from the Bible or Tora. However I feel it is important to acknowledge that angels can be found depicted long before the bible. Depictions of winged guardians can be found as early as Egypt or even perhistoric cave painting. These winged beings have been associated with protection and the divine long before God supposedly even created them.

The Christianity has negelected to mention many key angels in the Bible and has even antagonized a great many of the angels, simply because these angels stood for something that the Judeo-Christian faith did not believe. Camael, Samael (Often associated with Satan), Metatron and Shekinah (whom represent the equal balance of the masculine and feminine). And let us not forget of course Lucifer. Honestly angels are awesome, I can’t blame Judeo-Christianity for wanting to lay claim to them. However angels are not solely Christian, they are creatures of love, protection, and faith. They come to those that believe, and they certainly seem to like magic.

High hopes but no such luck :-(

I stumbled across an angel card deck for £3,99 (£2,99 if you are lucky but I missed the boat on that one) in one of those cheap book shops and asked my son to buy it for me for Yule. I could not look into the pack until I received it and took the wrapping off, but I do not regret it one bit when it comes to the pictures. They are so far removed from the usual suspects which I can find quite tacky and cheesy. These are simply photos of day to day objects that have an angelic vibe to them.

This deck is NOT about angel images but more how we could find signs in daily life, what could represent them, photos of crystals, white feathers …

The sad thing is that the deck somehow just does not speak to me when I draw a card. Some other decks MIGHT (or not) have messages that you can identify with, but apart from  one time when the deck was spot on, this just does not resonate with me. I am very disappointed, but won’t give up just yet.

Angel Stone

“Angel Stones are very special energy tools, which will spread love and light into your life. Each of these stones has an angel connected to it.Wearing or bearing an Angel Stone, a special assigned angel is constantly in your energy field, providing you with the energy you need.Works perfectly in healing sessions. It balances, heals and protects you. It feels very gentle and soothing.”     This is the official write-up for Angel Stones.

This does not mean an angel is “attached” or even “trapped” in the Angel Stone. It is simply a connection between you and the celestial realm if required, by picking up the stone. This stone needs to be “turned” into an Angel Stone by somebody who has been attuned to it. I don’t stop at stones but use what feels right to me. Crystals, jewellery … Especially my Angel Wing pendant that I wear all day.

The stone or crystal/ amethyst you see at the top is quite old by now and has even got an angel carved into it 🙂. Amethyst is used to heighten spiritual connection/ growth and is here combined with the carving of an angel and their energies. WOW!
